also known as the Tiger Owl
Carved out of Tupelo Wood with Glass Eyes, mounted on Driftwood with a Cherry Wood Base & Painted with Acrylics
Great Horned Owls habitats from dense forests to city parks. They have been known to inhabit the same area as the red tailed hawk. This is a really neat piece, I love the piece of driftwood. I have the driftwood carved into the Cherry Wood Bass and then I have the Owl wrapping it’s talons around the driftwood at the top. He leaning forward just a bit, like he’s ready to attack.
These birds have 500 pounds per square inch of crushing power in their talons. Prey are usually killed instantly when grasped by its large talons.
Stands about 19” high.
